Contract Range

Almost exact replicas of Victorian and Edwardian utility square hole air bricks, these schoolboard range have excellent flow rates for good ventilation.

Replacing Plastic Grills

- The appearance of dryer vent outlets, hob extractor and kitchen and bathroom fan outlets can all be improved using cast vents over the ducting outlet. For the cast iron air bricks to sit flush within the brick work some work will be required to the brickwork and the ducting may need shortening slightly although the overhaul effect is worth the effort.

Above - Louvre vents are particularly suited as extractor outlets or in areas were prevailing winds are a problem.

Boxed section reverse has depth and a boxed frame which helps provide a framework to adhere mortar onto it and the adjoining brick work. Heavy duty cast iron air bricks and also those with wings also have surfaces on the reverse to help key the cast iron to the adjacent brick work they are especially secure once the mortar has set.

The cutaway reverse requires more careful installation and is not as secure as the boxed section reverse or cast iron air bricks with wings or the Heavy duty type. It is not ideally suited for areas which are close to the pavement as it is likely to become dislodged if it is kicked by pedestrians.

The Cast Iron Air Brick Company supply cast airbricks to replace defective cast iron grilles or install quality vent grilles in new builds. We are able to supply just one air brick and can also supply architects and developers with large quantities. We can offer discounts on large orders of 9 or more. Originally in the city of Lincoln as "Lincoln Ironware" we are now based in Devon.

Since 2005 we have provided grilles for dozens of restoration projects including, Durham University Law Building, Middlesex University, Bristol Industrial Museum, Kidderminster Mill and our own, the property below, a grade II listed Georgian townhouse in Lincolnshire. We have been trusted with the supply of air bricks for period properties across the country from the Highlands, Belfast and Edinburgh to Truro and Jersey with properties varying from 1 bedroom tenements to mansion houses, mills, churches and museums.
